So I started my Jeep for a run to the store for some last minute goodies...
When I tapped the brake pedal to start the engine, there was no travel in the pedal. Started the engine, put it into reverse and discovered I had no brakes.
Opened the hood for a look and found a mass of stuffing-like material above the left strut and a hole in a hose by the master cylinder.
Apparently I have a rat issue to deal with, but does anyone know what the affected hose is for? It comes out of the firewall behind the master cylinder and wraps around the front of the (3.0L Diesel) engine to the passenger side under the engine cowling. It's dry, so I assume it's a vacuum or sensing line...
If we knew what is was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it? Albert Einstein
