Anyone have rattle in the overhead console? Rattle stops if you push up in the center. Would take it to the dealer, but if easy to remove I'd rather do the foam attack myself. This is on a 2014 limited with the panoramic moon roof. Thanks
I was hoping the glasses were the issue, but nope, I took them last week. I found the interior removal link on this forum, might give the removal a try to stuff with foam. Hopefully, no clips break. I will talk pics as I go, if it works, I'll post, otherwise trip to dealer. I just haven't had good luck with service departments fixing rattles. I think they find it petty. I find the lack of rattles speaks to a quality build.
Fixed. Followed the thread posted on this forum for the interior parts removal. I didn't actually have to fully remove, only pull on it like I was, it then clicked. All better now for this. I think you'd need Hercules to actually get the clips out.
What was the source of the rattle? Did you insert or add anything to quiet it down? Mine has the same creak / rattle. Appreciate any pearls of wisdom before I pry it down (which end did you start with).
I had the same issue with the rattling console in my new Overland, I made the dealer fix it. They said it was a loose clip. Had I joined this site sooner maybe I could have fixed it myself.
I yanked on the front end near the windshield a little but didn't pull it down completely nor did I hear a click - but - sound is gone for last two days... Crazy.
Looks like an old thread but I am having the same issue as mentioned here. Refuse to take it to the dealership as its a complete waste of time knowing I can fix it myself. Anyone have a link to the thread mentioned above about removing the overhead console or fixing it. At this point I think Im going to try and get something between the headliner and the roof to eliminate the problem but I'd rather attack a proven solution rather than conjure up my own fix. Any input would be appreciated.
I had a rattle/crinkle sound as well. Someone had posted the location of the headliner clips. I was able to push on the headliner in their approx location and that helped. Heard one of them snap in. Had the sunvisor recall done and they snapped it in even better... No noise.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
