I'm 90% positive I have found the culprit(s), but don't know how to fix. All those damn small heat shields with no rubber isolation. Bend them around and the noise changes or goes away for a couple days. Temperature of the exhaust/vehicle changes how much it rattles . I see why the dealer claims they don't hear, probably no way to actually fix. Screws are located where they get high heat, so not sure I can find a rubber to put in between that won't burn up. Like a bunch of tuning forks tacked on all over the place. Seems like bad design and I have not seen on other cars I have owned before.

Can only hear with the windows down, so I guess Jeep can enjoy the bad advertising as it rattles like a rust bucket down the street but is still the current body style being made.

My BMW had a terrible rattle under it. Ended up being an exhaust bracket that rusted and became loose. Drove me nuts.

Re: Rattle Trap

I have a 2015 Overland, there is some rattle on the passenger side I have not bothered to track down yet, but it's pretty persistent. I tend to think "well, if that's the one, it's okay, cause if I live life hunting down every one I'll go crazy."

Re: Rattle Trap

I have a 2014 3.0 overland with about 12,000 miles. The quietest vehicle I have ever owned. Unfortunately my jeep has had a number of overnight service visits and although I am provided a Chrysler made rental vehicle, none is as quiet as my jeep. After surrendering the rental car and driving away in my Jeep I have a smile on my face.

Re: Rattle Trap

Just picked up my 2012 Limited (37K miles) about 3 weeks ago, and all was very quiet until my wife adjusted the passenger seatback. I started hearing a rattle, and didn't take too long to chase it down to the plastic seatback. Just tapping on the seatback reproduced the rattle; I guess it's probably a loose cable inside the seat. Tapping hard on the seatback seemed to move the cable enough to get it away from the seatback, so now back to dead quiet again.

Re: Rattle Trap

Check for wiring looms that may be in contact with the area of the noise. I have been able to fix this in previous cars by use of cable ties or foam weather strip. The Jeep has been good though.

Re: Rattle Trap

2015 Grand Cherokee Altitude I'm still trying to figure out my noise, it sounds like left door pillar but after taking panels off many times I can say it's not there. I now wonder if it;s in the seat but everything seems solid.

It sounds like creaking when vehicle flexes over speed bumps or even bumps
in the road . I sure hope it's not weld joints that have come loose !

Re: Rattle Trap

Only rattles I have are in the driver door when I close it. I am thinking it is due to all the wires feeding all the switches on those panels. I thought about having the dealer look at it but when I had a similar issue on the last vehicle, the panel rattled more with bass and at other random times. Seemed like them taking the panel off fixed the internal rattle but made the door trim not fit as tight.

Re: Rattle Trap

Officially fixed the rattle in the back. Apparently the license plate frame from my 2011 JGC that never rattled does on my 2015.

The squeak in the console still pops up now and then. I really think it is because I used some interior cleaner. So I'll be adding some leather conditioner to see if that helps.

Initially the dealer thought they repaired the vibration in the drivers A pillar but that only lasted a day. I'll be taking it back until they figure it out.

Re: Rattle Trap

Glad to hear your making progress with squeaks and rattles, I still have my
noise in my drivers A pillar if that's where it is. I hear over some bumps but
mostly when pulling into drive way that cause vehicle to twist.

I think going to let dealer check it out I'll post there findings and please if yours
gets figured out let know the cause.

Rear plate holder only fastened at the top?

I added some Home Depot rubber bumpers to the bottom of mine to stop it rattling.
