Make it 28 post and I still have nothing good to say about this Grand Cherokee, So let me tell you about my 2004 "Liberty" 3.6L with 78,201 miles on it, The only time it has been to the Dealer was to have the oil changed and the Trans filter service and they added the tow package as a Recall(I paid for the trans cooler) and my daily driver is a 2012 Ram 1500/5.7L.I have always own Mopar cars and trucks .

But yeah it sucks to get a lemon... If only this battle would've been in California .. Their lemon laws are pro consumer.

Re: Rattle Trap

About the Liftgate, I experienced that problem on my 2005 GC. I replaced all of the retainer clips with new ones and the noise went away. I think the clips get bent on removal and don't hold the trim panel properly after removing.

Re: Rattle Trap

My 2015 fully loaded Overland listed @ $72, 588 CAN
My rattle is getting progressively worse...sounds like a loose heat shield or metal
vibrating against metal...get more aggresive on acceleration and it kinda goes away.
Mostly notice at low speed or under load at low speed..ie pullup a hill in town.
Seems to come from the passenger side front to mid section. Guess a trip to dealer is upcoming.
I've been holding off to see if anything else came up. So far, nothing.

Re: Rattle Trap

My 2015 SRT is six months old and is an insane rattle-trap.

I'm looking for any cues to fixing these.

It's bad, all the way tot eh switchgear in the doors.

My issue was a sticker that was peeling off one of the exhaust pipes. Sticker was one of those foil types. I pulled it off and the flapping sound under the vehicle went away.

My main issues now is the sunroof rattle that is driving me nuts!

Re: Rattle Trap

2015 Overland 4500 miles. I have a couple of squeaks. One is back center of dash..sort of a rattle. Cannot recreate it or determine what is causing it. Another is a metal to metal ringing vibration at the passenger side near the passenger seat area. Nothing visible under the car everything is tight and no marking to show what is hitting. It seems to happen around 37 mph.

Re: Rattle Trap Check the grab handles on the roof.

I've been chasing rattles and buzzes in my JGC for sometime now. I now have most of the annoyances eliminated. The one item that I was reluctant to mess with was the grab handles. I could not see how these could make much of a rattling sound. Well... I was wrong. I tighten all four of mine and this made a night and day difference. I'm shocked that this easy to do item, made such a big difference. If you haven't already tighten yours give it a try, nothing left to lose but may 10 minutes of your time. I'm not talking a , I think this may have helped difference. It's a no question about it difference.
