Rattles in roof

I have been hearing annoying rattles in my new Jeep. Took a while for the Jeep to settle in. The main road outside my neighborhood has been under construction to widen it for months now and is uneven and seems to have shaken some stuff loose a bit. It is hard to hear exactly where it is all coming from but I think it is from the sunroof/liner area. Anyone else have this problem?

Try different positions of the roof (if you haven't already) like shade all the way open, sun roof tilted, sun roof open and see if that changes anything. Do you have the rear DVD?

Mine does not rattle

Re: Rattles in roof

Earlier owners had reported both the sunglasses in the holder, and missing insulation/trim around the sunroof as sources of such overhead noise. The sunroof problem was quickly fixed under warranty.

Re: Rattles in roof

I noticed a noise that seemed to be on the driver side, just behind my seat. Weve had a lot of snow/ice hear and I am waiting till Spring to see if its still there, then I'll address it.

Re: Rattles in roof

It isn't sunglasses, I have tried the tilt of the sunroof, but with wind noise it is so hard to tell. I have an appointment this week to get it checked out

Re: Rattles in roof

I get a rattle when my wife's sunglasses are in the holder the wrong way. When I open up the holder and reposition her sunglasses and close it back up ... no more rattle.
