Rattling noise in drivers side window

Just noticed this starting to happen. Every time I hit a bump, there is a slight rattle noise. Sounds like it's from the drivers side window. When I open the window a half an inch (looks like window is still closed) the noise doesn't happen. When the window is open, no noise. Only happens when the window is totally closed. Any ideas?

Did this get fixed? I have the same issue except with the front passenger window. Very annoying!

I still have the problem. Quite annoying. I asked my buddy mechanic to take a look. He said he didn't want to take apart the window cuz the dealers don't like that. Only way I'm able to fix this is by opening the window a half an inch. Then the noise stops. The window isn't open. It's just my sealed I guess.

Couple of months have gone by, problem is still there. Anyone else have such an issue?

Re: Rattling noise in drivers side window

I have it in the passenger side window. Near the tweeter speaker area. It comes and goes. I notice mainly during a cooler morning. Seems to correct itself in hotter weather or in the afternoon. When my dealer performed a recall I mentioned it to them, but of course they couldn't recreate it. It's hard to tell whether its the window or tight fitting trim somewhere rubbing.

Looking forward to a TSB on this one.

I know for sure its coming from the window. As soon as i open the window tiny millimeter, noise stops after going over bumps.

I believe you. When I begin to hear it, the problem stops immediately if I open the window just slightly, but not enough to open it. Have you taken it to the service department yet?

I'm afraid to deal with the service department in my neighborhood. Very bad reviews. I'm afraid they will make it worse.

Hi JeepOverTheLand,

Sorry to hear about the rattling noise you're experiencing! You can enter your zip code here to see if there are any other Jeep dealers near you: Find a Dealer | Jeep Dealer Locator by Zip Code | Jeep. I'd be happy to follow up with them after you've made an appointment, just PM our page and let me know!

Re: Rattling noise in drivers side window

wow - that's terrible to hear about your dealer. it's auto shops are bad. You should give it a try. I've always taken my jeeps, and rams to the dealer -

The one in NEWNAN, GA is Awesome!

You say that it's bad reviews? - usually the only reviews about a dealer is bad. - it's rare to hear good reviews.

I had the rattle coming from the drivers side dash. it was driving me crazy. I called them up - they asked me to bring it in the next morning and had a ENTERPRISE rental (DODGE Durango) ready for me.

I picked my 14 Overland hemi the next day - no rattle and they gave me a coupon for a FREE FULL DETAIL .

to fix my rattle - there was a clip attached to the steering column that was re-torqued and one of the hood hinges needed to be retorqued.

They said they didn't know which fox would be the 'fix' so they performed both.

I'll bet if they read the TSB they would have removed the clip.

In fact, it's an RRT which means it should have been done automatically even if you didn't complain about a rattle.
