I'm not 100%, but the suspension makes no noise or creates any weird symptoms when travelling over rough roads, bumps, curbs, at different speeds and doesn't match any of the TSB stuff that is currently out. After testing and trying to duplicate it, it is exactly like what others have posted above. It only does it here and there and feels more like a delayed drivetrain related item.

If something were loose with the suspension, I would think uneven pavement, flexing of the vehicle, and/or bumpy roads would cause some type of abnormal noise. It seems like a dissconnect traction type feel.

http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_1700211.pdf

http://www.wk2jeeps.com/wk2_tsb.htm#RSUSPENSION this is the main page where the word "clunk" is used before opening the document.

Notice the description says Squeak and or Clunk coming from the rear. When you open up the bulletin the word Clunk is not there but is indicated in the first description.

The reason I am sharing is because there was a post or 2 in here with this very same p[roblem that was fixed via the suspension. I hope to find it but I dont think it was the topic of the thread but there where 2 posts with the fix about a month ago.

I do agree that it could be the drivetrain as well! But don't discount the Suspension/QL as being the culprit.. I think your year jeep falls right into this tsb. Whatever it is post what happens at the dealer. I am taking mine in hopefully next week so I will post next week if they adress it as one of the 5 things I have to bring it back for.

Also here is a thread describing the clunking and seems to be set around the load leveling rear.

Re: Rear bump feel when accelerating

another thing i did is...I tested about 10 quick take offs and noticed the bump a few times out of the 10. I then did 10 take offs but before doing so, I placed it in "N" and then back in gear and not once did the bump feel occur.

Also, My vin# does not fall into any of the suspension TSBs as mine is a last week (mid June '11) build for 2011.

another thing...I can feel the bump only...no sound is made.

Let us know if your issues are resolved or not.

There is another thread in the JF about this. My wk2 does it too and mostly from coming from a stop. Try coming from a stop and turning left, gradual accelaration only.

Re: Rear bump feel when accelerating

I too have noticed this recently. I had this same problem with my Nissan Titan which was never resolved. I thought it was because I added bigger tires?

Has anyone got the problem fixed yet?

I have taken mine to the dealer three times already and no solution

Re: Rear bump feel when accelerating

i don't believe it's anything needing fixed...it's a biproduct of how the 4wd system works.

Re: Rear bump feel when accelerating

i donīt think an annoying noise should be acceptable in any 4x4 system, more so in a mid-top class vehicle

Re: Rear bump feel when accelerating

I agree if we are talking a "noise" but the bump is something people occasionally feel under certain conditions.

Its not a noise we are talking about...its a slight bump or thud feeling in the driveline as described.
