Re: Rear bump feel when accelerating

A different Jeep dealer had a drive in my GC and straight away felt a very noticeable bump in the back when accelerating from near standstill. He claimed not to have experienced it before and did not know what to do about it! This is a vehicle under warranty at an authorized Jeep dealer, the second one to acknowledge the issue, and the second one to not wanting to do anything about it! My other issues were also not dealt with....

Re: Rear bump feel when accelerating

Funny, I had an issue like this and thought it was the back of the Jeep. The dealership put it on the hoist and did a sound check and found out if was actually at teh front end of the truck. Then they replaced the front two shocks and still did not fix it. They replaced the front sway bars mounts and still did not work. Found out it actually was teh engine mounts went on it already and they replaced it and have not heard anything since then.

Re: Rear bump feel when accelerating

Still haven't gotten to the dealer, but it seems to be getting a little worse...I can feel it more, and it does it more often. The other day in a parking lot, it was a slow tight left turn, had to goose it a hair, felt like someone hit the side of the car with their fist. It did it almost every turn/take off the rest of the day I drove it...getting a little irritated with this. Anyone find any solution besides the motor mount?

Re: Rear bump feel when accelerating

i haven't pushed my dealer for a fix but I plan to address it again the next time it's there as it can not be considered normal (which is what they told me last time). It's very noticeable now and happens almost every time I stop for more than a few seconds and then take off again.

Re: Rear bump feel when accelerating

Today, it was severe enough that it felt like something rolled back in the cargo bay and hit the hatch. Didn't have time during the oil change Saturday to address, but I'm taking a service guy for a ride, and if I hear "that's normal" or some BS like that, I'm gonna have some issue with it. Our 93 grand with 200k miles doesn't thump, clunk, whatever, nor does the 96 with 250k on it.

Re: Rear bump feel when accelerating

Will do...was talking numbers on a new wrangler tonight...it's been 6 months since we traded our '10 w/ only 9100 miles, and the wife is already, (in that voice she gives me when she wants something and she knows I'll say yes)" I miss the wrangler, and it it's going to warm soon", and service folks were gone. I'm going to call tomorrow and set up an appointment, but I've 2 cars lined up to detail this weekend and I'm out of town all week except for some spinal injections wednesday( leave tomorrow, back wed to get shot up, leave thurs back fri...busy busy). One thing in my favor, I went to school with the guys who's family own the dealership. I'll let everyone know

Thanks a lot Milous,

But in this case it's probably something with the Transfercase or the transmission than the shocks
