Rear camera not displaying

Last night, I backed the car into the garage and the camera worked great. This morning, I went to work and backed into my parking space and the radio display was black except the words "Check Entire Surroundings". The funny thing is as I put the transmission into Park, an image displayed from the camera for about a second. So, the camera does work. Besides a trip to the dealer, anything thoughts?

Was at the dealer today for an oil change and they also looked at the 730N and rear camera. Camera is working and sending a feed to the radio. Dealer ordered at new 730N. Hope it is updated with 2.120.

I have been having the same problem with my 430 RBZ.

The problem started intermittently around 900 miles on the clock.

By the time I got to 1800 on the clock it would stop working for sometimes up to 5 days at a time them it would work two to three days.

Every time I would try to take the car in the camera image would show.

I dropped it off this morning so I am interested in seeing what they think the problem is.

I was begining to suspect it may be the radio because the audio seems very bland at times but when the camera is working the audio seems to be more dynamic.

Update:

The service department seems to think that it is the camera so they are going to order one.

When they repair it I will let you know if that was the issue.

Update:

Jeep thought it was the radio (730N) and replaced it and the rear camera still did not appear on the display. Today, Jeep ordered a new rear camera and left the new radio in with ver 2.12. Will update Gracenote next week.

Update: This morning the Jeep dealership replaced the rear camera. All is back to normal.

Good to hear I am still waiting for them to tell me when the camera arrives. Living on a caribbean island is nice, but you are always hearing people blame mail for being slow.

Another update, it went out again. This time the dealer found a loose wire in Pin #1. This makes more sense than anything else they did. I'll give it 30 days and then will declare victory. Nevertheless, the dealer was great and I received a new 730N with ver 2.12 in the process.

Good News:

I took the car in for the camera to be replaced and it's first service.

They replaced the camera and now all is well, and the new camera seems to be centered whereas the original was cocked to the left rear of the vechicle.

Hi,

I have the camera not work every time the "service blind spot detection" and "service park assist" comes on. And the compass does not display.

All systems come back on after a while when driving. Although, these systems o go down and come back periodically while driving. Interesting problem.

Sounds like a loose wire. Mine was a ground wire in Pin #1 connector. Have your dealer check the connectors and the wire attached to the connectors.
