Rear end Clunking and rattling noise! :((

I hope. I was one of these GC owners that had the problem chased for a year taking my jeep 8 times to change shocks under warranty.
Also chase jeep under my country laws and i was able to persuade my dealer to buy back and get me a new 2014 overland to be ever happy with it.
Good luck in good faith is the only thing i can say but it looks to me they have made the correct changes to have a great possible solution.

Read the TSB.
Well well isn't that interesting. So they totally eliminated any direct metal to metal contact between the shaft and upper shock mount. That suggests that the shaft was banging against the mount laterally and vertically especially when the shock heated up and had a little more play in the shaft which after a period of time would stress the seals to where the shocks eventually fail.So a lower bushing with a metal sleeve inside it fitted into the lower side of the mount and a bushing (looks like a piece of heater hose cut to fit) under the metal washer on top side of mount would help reduce torque and movement on the shaft. I bet that lower bushing is thicker than the previous one. I think that just may work. I'd feel better if the upper bushing was solid like the bottom one. Better call my dealer before the banging starts again.
