Re: Rear Glass

As I was on buisness in Texas for a few weeks I really could not do a whole lot to fix it myself so I took it to a local Texas dealer. They first used some tape to temp fix it until a new window came in as Jeep told them they need to replace the window and not fix. It took four days for the new window to come in and the dealer fixed it in about 4 hours on my last day in Texas.

The dealers service manager told me that there is a known issue with the flipper window and there should be some sort of notice coming out soon. I did not have time for the touch up paint to fix the damage to the paint from the window movement but they did note it in the records so I can get it done when I get home.

The dealer (Dick Poe Jeep) in Texas (El Paso) was fantastic in accomidating me even though I was a visitor to their town. They had 5 or 6 JGC on the lot with two of them being overlands and one Summit.

Re: Rear Glass

I just went to the dealer today about the rear liftgate window rattling and a small water leak from the rear view mirror, turns out that the rear liftgate and front windshield are cut to small and are the wrong size. The dealer told me that this has happend from the factory to a few cars and its the glass that was cut to the wrong size. They have ordered me a new windshield and rear lift gate glass. The cars is only a month old. I would also have the dealer check your windshield as well. Looks like if you have a problem with your rear liftgate most likely your windshield is cut to the wrong size as well.

There is a TSB for the windshield issue.

It's cool that your dealer caught both of them and will be fixing it for you
