I had the exact problem
The dealer replaced the switch
I had the same problem 2 month later. The dealer replaced the switch again.
1 month later, it's gone again. Now I can't be bothered

Re: Rear hatch button does not work !

I had the same issue.
Button stopped working after two years.
The dealer ordered complete chrome brow with button already in it.
It took six weeks to procure the part.
The installation was flawless.
Works perfect now and I have noticed that the new button does feel a lot tighter and harder to push in, whereas the original button felt a lot looser and easier to push in.
Maybe it's a slight redesign and sealed better against water intrusion.
Cheers

Re: Rear hatch button does not work !

I want to hook up the reverse camera to my gate but I'm worried that if the button goes again I'll pay instead...

Is the rubber oval covered button to the right above the license
plate the button for the rear hatch window ? Thanks.

I am troubleshooting my chrome lock button on the rear hatch,
it is not working (at all), side door buttons work fine. And I
pressed this oval rubber patch, it feels like there is a button
underneath, and nothing happens. I am assuming this is
the hatch window release.

The key fob hatch window button works OK.

I don't think I have any warranty on this any more, does anyone
know of a link to a good how to for removing the interior door
pannel? Since both buttons seem to be inop, perhaps it's a
harness connector problem.

Thanks.

Re: Rear hatch button does not work !

Crome button locks and unlocks the car. The second button opens the glass hatch separate from the whole hatch. Buttons on the bottom side if the Crome piece to the right side.

Re: Rear hatch button does not work !

Thanks. I found this thread and I'm going to
work on this a while. This thread has a master
trim panel guide and references to trim removal
tools.
