Rear Window Defroster

Hey guys! Noticed my rear defroster stopped working a little while back and just took it to the dealer to be repaired. The dealer told me it has been scratched off. I have never hauled anything other than groceries or shopping bags in the back so it surprised me. They recommended replace the rear window or use a touch up thing from an auto parts store. Has anyone tried the touch up stuff? How hard is it to do? I figured I would give it a shot because the alternative is replacing the window, so i can't really hurt it much. Also anyone had to replace the window, if so how much was it?

Thanks!!!
Justin

The touch up stuff works, used it about 10 years ago to repair a ding and it lasted.
I used a tiny bit of clear paint over the repair afterwards.

Clean, then mask carefully [blue paint stuff seems to work] and don't get too generous with the conductive coating.

Your dealer or a window repair shop might be willing to do this for you for a few bucks...

... dunno if your insurance would cover something like this.

Re: Rear Window Defroster

I may make a few calls to see if a repair shop would do it. My dealer just told me where to buy it and to have fun basically. I am so picky when it comes to everything it drives me nuts.
