I went to the dealer... the dealer informed me that the window is backorder but they had done a temporary fix...

Great temporary fix!

This weekend I hit the tailgate button and heard a very bad noise...
Look at the pictures... a picture is worth a thousand words they say...
Believe me, I did say a thousand words.

I will call the dealer and thank him for is great temporary fix. Grrr!

Re: Rear window / Tailgate issue / Grrr!

In case you haven't already seen it, this first thread has some info about rear glass problems:
http://jeepgarage.org/showthread.php?t=19674

Obviously yours has gone far beyond to sheet metal warping.

Then there was another member who had severe sheet metal damage at the rear liftgate. This one eventually came to the attention of Jeep engineers. Maybe totally unrelated to your damage, since ice was suspected, but here's the link for your reference:
http://jeepgarage.org/showthread.php...ght=rear+glass

I hope yours is fixed quickly.

Now that sounds like a major design flaw.

Hope they fix it for you and do a good job.

Mine is in the shop right now for the same reason. Glass came unglued on the driver side. Spoiler damaged also. Service manager said there are a lot on backorder indicating a definite problem. I have had my Overland for four months and I can honestly say I have never openend just the flipper glass, only the complete lift gate. I noticed a slight "hitch" when it was oppening about a week before I took it in. The service manager opened just the flipper glass and the hinge on the driver side let go and he caught the glass before it hit the ground. Time for another TSB!

I just came back from the dealer.
They have taken pictures and will call me later to provide an action plan to solve my problem
There is indeed a backorder situation from what they said to me.

So what gets unglued? Hinges? Or shocks?

I had to have my rear glass replaced a week after my purchase. The left hinge unglued, and the glass was rubbing against the paint.

I am now having an issue with the lower right corner of my power lift gate rubbing against the bumper. Here are some pics... Back to the shop on Thursday....

This is the scratched paint on bumper:

Right hinge on mine.

No call from my dealer today... I was expecting quick turn around from these guys. Oh well!

Just a quick update on my issue. I am taking it in tomorrow morning. I noticed that the power lift-gate is not the culprit... The problem is the bumper. It is not perfectly centered causing the bottom right corner of the power lift-gate to rub. It looks like they are going to have to move the bumper over to the right about 1/8-1/4 of an inch... We'll see how it goes...
