Re: Rearend or rear suspension clunk/creak
Ditto, my noise showed up when the weather got colder (and all the salt and chemicals on the roads). I am reasonably optimistic, since I expected the noise to return this winter - which it has not yet.
Again, note that on mine the dealer replaced the end of travel absorbers AND removed the rear sway bar - replacing the bushings and reinstalling.
I am not aware either of these has been done on any of the other forum poster's rear LL shock replacements.
On mine, it appeared that the root cause of the noise was the shroud over the top 1/2 of the shock was very "warped" on the original shocks. On the replacements, it has retained it's shape. The noise appeared to be caused by the warped shroud rubbing on the metal of the shock. When I laid under the GC and had someone push/pull (on the tow bar insert), the noise was readily heard - until I reached up and grabbed on the shroud and the noise went away.
