Re: Recall for the TIPM

Well, my Jeep died again on the same on ramp. This is the second time it had happened after I filled the tank with gas and I reached the exact same area. It's a spot where I had traveled about 1 - 2 miles on the freeway (about 65 mph) then slow down to about 25 to go to the on ramp when it dies.

I think I just need to get the car fixed now like is being recommended here.

Angry Re: Recall for the TIPM

My 2012 Overland has other electrical problems that some might need to tell me if theirs is doing as well which I need to fight with the dealership.

Speed Control on and off switch does not turn on or off sometimes

-Car will turn and crank but will not start - TIPM recall issue of course.

-Easy exit/entry- Seat and steering wheel is supposed to go up and far back position to exit vehicle. There is no fix in owners manual and found article to fix it myself after a month and now my bottom steering wheel leather is torn so steering wheel will need replaced.

The only thing that I experienced was the TIPM. I don't use the easy exit seats. Does sound like you need to go back to the dealer for the other problems.

Talking Re: Recall for the TIPM

Thanx Raptor for clearing up my confusion. Yeah, I guess after replacing my TIPM, which has an assembly date on it of 12-19-2014, I was just imagining that the "check engine" light wouldn't go out, and the seat belt warning light also wouldn't go out and the key fob wouldn't lock my doors... yeah, I guess I was just, I don't know... making it all up!! Cuz I'm an attention whore! Whatever. I don't pretend to be a Jeep "guru" but I'm also not going to pretend that my experience with a vehicle that I paid nearly $50 grand for has been a totally trouble-free. This forum is for Jeep owners to exchange information. That's all I'm doing. To suggest that I'm spreading "misinformation" is idiotic. Oh, and thanx for that little nugget of information about disconnecting the negative battery cable... why didn't I think of that!!! Brilliant! Wow. I guess I'll just go back to sleep and pretend that my Jeep doesn't have aaaaaany problems. Now if only I could live my life that way.

Hey I'm tryin to help. You and everyone else here.
What's with all the hostility in your third post on this forum ?

We did exchange information...... you posted misinformation about installing a replacement TIPM and I corrected that misinformation.
How's that "idiotic"??

And "that little nugget of information about disconnecting the negative battery cable" comes right from my 2012 factory service manual, something not everyone may be aware of!

Get over it!

Most of my posts are from the bin there done that variety, especially when it comes to faulty TIPM's. Unfortunately I've learned to become somewhat of an expert on that!

You could easily put me on the ignore list on go on your merry way.......I'm sure your local Chrysler dealer would love to rip you off repeatedly and continuously, while they refuse to fix your Jeep the right way. Maybe that's where you got that misinformation in the first place? Have a nice day.

Re: Recall for the TIPM

You know what Raptor, you're right. I've been so frustrated with my Jeep lately... I should be attacking Chrysler and instead I attacked you! I wanna apologize for coming off as a hothead and I really do appreciate all the info that you and everyone else on this forum provide. I had just finished coming back from the dealer that day because, lo and behold, I noticed that my power steering fluid was sitting at just below the "low" marker in the reservoir. My Jeep is only three years old with 30k miles! Today I noticed, while sitting in the drive-thru at my favorite Mexican food place, i thought to myself, "That's weird... normally my engine fan kicks in about now." I checked the coolant temp on the onboard display and it showed 219 degrees F. Looked at the coolant in the reservoir and it's really low. Car's driving me insane! Anyway, I'll try to keep my psycho-bursts to myself. Keep up the good work Bud.
