Re: Recall notices for instrument cluster

I scheduled my appointment to have this taken care of for next week, when I told him I was calling to have the recall done I was surprised he didn't say "what recall?" (they generally seem confused about everything I tell them). Of course he might have been also agreeing with me just to get me off the phone.

Re: Recall notices for instrument cluster

I just took my car back from dealer that I dropped off this morning for the recall. The guy in dealer told me that they are not doing the recall yet because the updated software will crash the Jeep 's computer and he got one victim GC there. The car can't be drove because computer was crashed.

So he said that they are waiting for the next software update, the dealer will call me if they get a good working software to perform this recall.

Hmm, then what in the world did they do to my GC on Monday for 3.5 hours?

Re: Recall notices for instrument cluster

May be the software update has different result to different model? I have summit.

Anyway, my dealer's worksheet doesn't show the software update for the recall. Only the TSB (one of the updates I requested with my car in).

hmm I don't think its model specific, I have the Summit also and my dealer loaded it fine on Tuesday. Several people have had it done without problem on here. I wonder if your dealer just botched the upgrade on that one with the ruined computer and is blaming the software. Maybe try another dealer and see what they say.

Re: Recall notices for instrument cluster

Maybe they missed all warnings to not let the computer sleep during the long upload.

I'd find another dealer to do it.

Re: Recall notices for instrument cluster

Not sure what's going on in the dealer. I will wait a while before doing it again.

Another dealer is kind of far, this one is on my way to work and I can ask my colleague to pick me up after dropping it there.

Re: Recall notices for instrument cluster

OK somethings not right.
my car lit up like a xmas tree Friday morning
Pushed the assist button in the car and the operator asked if he could look up my info.
Gave him permission and dew minutes later he told me about the recall and to contact my dealer. Brought the jeep in at 8:00 and it was done by 2:30 with the update.

I noticed on the way home my oil quality dropped from 66% to 9%.
Now the bad news. How do I check to see if the dealer really did the update; the invoice shows the work but is there a way to check?

The reason I am asking is my dash light up like a tree again today. the ABS,ECO and traction control lights are staying on along with the brake light. Also the speedo is dead.

They may not have done it correctly, or they did a different update.

What specific update does the invoice show,

In any event, you need to go back to a dealer.

The update was for the recall.
The invoice says:

There was a stored U0402-00 for the TCMIMPLAUSIBLE date received. After the recall was done the code has not returned.

Apply N58 Recall
Cause:
31 Campaigns - 31

Re: Recall notices for instrument cluster

Recall states Jeeps built through August 20th. Mine was built 7/24 and I have not received the notice nor does it show up on the Jeepowner site when I log in. Has any one not gotten the notice that believe they should of?

I know I'll get the notice, but haven't yet.
