Let me recap for you...

An owners instrument panel goes haywire...goes blank or shows CELs for air bags and/or ABS as it appears some have experience with this malfunction. Now how does the owner know that the CELs aren't real? Because some in this thread are guessing that they're not real? And should the owner then continue to drive their vehicle not knowing if the air bags or the ABS is deactivated because of this instument panel malfunction? I then just asked a hypothetical question about possible denial of insurance if this was the case.

My CEL for air bags driving my new 2014 off the lot was real, and a part was replaced to get the air bags working again, but I did not feel 100% safe driving the vehicle for 3 days without air bags...would you?

So tell me, how is my logic here ridiculous, and why do my questions bother you so?
I think your questions are a big stretch. Maybe you should post a link to these articles you are reading where insurance claims were denied because the airbags didn't work.

Nah, just tightening a ground with the two different flashes.

If the jeep site is down, try WK2Jeeps.com - 2011-2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee which is a tad more reliable anyway.

They are telling all that come in it is a 3-4 hour job/wait. I don't think this was a lie because they did take it straight back to the bay as soon as I pulled in and that was about 3 hours ago. So not sure if it will be that way at all dealers but just be prepared for a potential long wait to have it completed.

Definitely been making good use of the maximum care rental benefit the past few months lol. Have the 2014 Ram pickup as the rental, 395 horse power and that thing is quick for a truck!
The TSB notes this, and recommends not using a laptop on battery due to the duration.

And I still feel that it's not a "big deal" to ask for a loaner if your air bags or ABS may be malfunctioning, common sense really.
Its even sadder the folks that don't appreciate the greatly improved tires, suspensions, crush structures, rollover structures in modern vehicles that have far more to do with it than air bags [think secondary collision] OR possibly actually learning how to drive--unfortunately an area that has gone downhill over the past couple decades.

Read my post, I clearly stated that "airbags are a valuable feature in any car" what part of that sentence doesn't make you think I appreciate what they do!! You said "BTW, seat belts don't help you much in a side collision" so what if the vehicle rolls over??

Your making out that airbags are the Holy Grail of motoring.. But what others and myself were getting at is that driving a day or two without an airbag, probably won't make much difference, since people have been doing it for decades..

Just for the sake of discussion (since you felt the need to comment on my opinion), if you were the receipient of a side collision (a.k.a "T Boned") in a modern vehicle, would you prefer (or for the sake of your passenger) to have side curtain air bags or side bolster air bags...or not?

Also, in a frontal collision in that same modern vehicle, would you also have wished for not only the front air bag to deploy...but the knee air bag as well...or not to have either of them?

Why am I left with the feeling that some of the people who have posted about this topic (not picking on you personally) forget that all the driving skill in the world doesn't really help when someone hits you.

I say this because a number of people have eluded otherwise.

Not whining here...not attacking either, just a simple discussion.

Stop deflecting the issue, you posted what you posted...we all read it.

Again, stop twisting my words around, and stay on topic. The discussion originally was my opinion on the importance of having working safety features not only for yourself but for your passengers.

Don't make this bigger than it needs to be. If you can't add to the discussion as an adult, then I won't bother responding to you.

Twisting words.. Hmmm.. Ok!! I'm pretty sure this is a forum, where you can go back and read what you've posted.. So no need to twist words mate!

You be an adult and see the bigger picture, safety of driving doesn't just boil down to having airbags fitted to you car.. There's a lot more involved!

I think you should stop responding cuz you're not saying anything useful!!

I think you need to stop responding cuz you're chatting rubbish now!!
Asking anyone to stop responding just because what they say is rubbish, is asking some people not to participate at all. Jeep Garage has its sights set on 50,000 members, so all are welcome, even those who spout trash ... Even me.

Lol.. Everyone is welcome to say what they like when they like, it's a public forum :-) ..

GClimited was being childish and said he is going to stop responding to me personally.. I'm just letting him know I don't care, cuz he is not saying anything interesting to me anyway!
