Again, stop twisting my words around, and stay on topic. The discussion originally was my opinion on the importance of having working safety features not only for yourself but for your passengers.

Don't make this bigger than it needs to be. If you can't add to the discussion as an adult, then I won't bother responding to you.
I understand your point. Even though you lived without these safety features. You get used to the thought of having them.

You PAID for them. And albeit slim odds, If you were in a servere accident in that time when they were malfunctioning. You are screwed.

I know that when the recall on the 2002 GC Jeep I had was issued that the airbag could deploy accidently at any time. I was pretty uneasy about driving it. Even though I had been driving it for the last 10 years that way.

I think it's partly an age difference. When I was younger I never worried about such things. But as you get older and loved ones are more frail. You tend to worry and think about such things.

Re: Recall notices for instrument cluster

So Just got back from the dealer N58 recall is complete. All is fine I don't notice anything different which is good because I didn't expect to notice anything different. First good uneventful trip to the Jeep dealer. All went well.

Good to hear. How long did it actually take?

I dropped it off at about 8:30am and it showed up as complete on the dealer website about 1:00pm when I checked and I picked it up shortly after that. She did tell me it was a 3-4 hour update so it was about what they said, long software load times she said for whatever reason. Id recommend planning on a few hours for this one its not a quickie 15-20 minute one.

Exactly...I could not have said it better myself.

When I was younger I thought I was invincible, now as I get older I tend to put others ahead of me...especially when it comes to safety. It's one thing to risk your own safety...yet another to risk someone else's safety.

Have you heard of one case of the air bags not deploying on a 2014? I know I sure have not. Everything has a certain amount of risk and a certain failure rate. When you drive to the store or to work do you have the local police shut down the roads so that you can drive in safely without the risk of somebody running into you? I have never thought I was invincible even at a younger age I think I have always understood that things have risk.

Man there's a lot of drama queens on this site who make shit up...

Really? This is all you have to contribute to the discussion? You're going to jump on my back because I feel uneasy risking my son, older parents, or fiance driving a vehicle that doesn't have working air bags?

Don't you have a dog to kick somewhere?

I have not...but then again it's a 2014, it's too new...at least for me trying to find this information.

But I don't really care...What I do care about is not driving around in a vehicle with no air bags...that's it. Comprende?

Re: Recall notices for instrument cluster

I had mine done yesterday and it took approximately 3.5 hours. They took mine back fairly quickly though.
