Again, stop twisting my words around, and stay on topic. The discussion originally was my opinion on the importance of having working safety features not only for yourself but for your passengers.

I understand your point. Even though you lived without these safety features. You get used to the thought of having them.
You PAID for them. And albeit slim odds, If you were in a servere accident in that time when they were malfunctioning. You are screwed.
I know that when the recall on the 2002 GC Jeep I had was issued that the airbag could deploy accidently at any time. I was pretty uneasy about driving it. Even though I had been driving it for the last 10 years that way.
I think it's partly an age difference. When I was younger I never worried about such things. But as you get older and loved ones are more frail. You tend to worry and think about such things.
