Thank you. Problem is Jeep will keep saying they are working on a software update until the vehicle is out of warranty, then it's up to the customer to pay an hourly rate to maybe get it diagnosed.

But if you do get it fixed, please PM me and post here with the info.

Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

Maybe their fix for the liftgate taking 2x2 clicks will be a little sticker that you place over the x2 on the fob that says x4!!!!!!!!!!!!! HA.....

Another tech glitch. I have had this issue since new and so far have not figured out how to make it work lol. Getting rid of this car at 36k miles, cannot be trusted when I have to pay for things not working.

Chrysler just doesn't know how to even diagnose this problem. So they now say it is "Operating as Designed". Some answer, huh?

Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

This weekend i experienced my liftgate would not open when i manually press the button from the liftgate. Not sure if temperature had something to do with it as it was about 94+ degrees in socal. Happened twice and on the 3rd time i had to press button and actually pull the liftgate up.

Once it opened i tried closing it by pressing button and it would not close. I don't remember if i manually closed it or if i waited but the button to close actually worked. Haven't had any issues since but am wondering what happened. I've read in the manual that the liftgate wont open in extremely cold temperature just didn't think this would occur in hot temp.

These vehicles have a lot of electrical gremlins in them. The other day after I opened the hatch with the keyfob (4 clicks naturally) the buzzer kept beeping for about 2 minutes. I won't even mention it to my dealer because I bet Chrysler will say it's "Operating as Designed". What a joke.

What is it with the key fob and liftgate? I am familiar with those 4 clicks. Should just change the key fob button to x4...lol. I mean really.

Jeep contacted me about the keyfob requiring 4 clicks to operate the liftgate with the reply of it's "Operating as Designed". I then replied then why does the owners manual and the keyfob say 2X to operate the liftgate. They were stumped and had no reply. Pretty sad.

What more can I say. We all know the way it's supposed to operate, but as far as Chrysler is concerned, they threw up their hands and stated "Operating as Designed". They also closed my case number. What a bunch of crumbs.

Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

I'm with you on this hole liftgate 4 clicks issue. Since i bought the vehicle after leaving it for >15-20 minutes it takes 4 clicks to open it, it's just embarrassing. I have followed this post, and have asked about this issue also in the 2 years i have owned my 2014 limited bought in June of 2013. I will not bring it up to my dealer unless i have read about a fix here. I am also leading to ditchin it before the warranty runs out due to all these electrical/software issues. I still have the Auto HVAC software problem where it overheats the cabin before it scales back. unfortunately, I upgraded into that software problem trying to address the remote start HVAC problem. I did not have the overheating problem until they updated the software to fix the remote start issue. I traded 1 issue for another worse issue, and still don't know about the remote start problem is right or not. Just disappointing.
