Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

My 2012 Overland only required 2 presses to open.

My 2015 Overland requires 4 presses to open.

Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

My 2014 Durango usually requires three or four clicks to open. Occasionally, only two. Dealer told me they could not duplicate the problem. I did it for them right in their presence!

That's pretty lame Bob.

For me, MY2014, it takes 2 double-taps to open the lift gate. The first double tap apparently wakes up the system, then the second double tap works like Jeep intended.

But, for the door locks the key fob unlocks and locks as intended - no extra presses are needed to wake up the system. Also, the remote start works as intended, with no extra presses needed.

Further, and this is most annoying, the panic alarm on the key fob activates too easily. This is as designed, and it's a crappy design. I keep my keys and fob in my front pocket and it gets knocked too easily, about once or twice a month although the frequency is becoming less lately.

Crappy design.

That's happened to me too! Especially since there's an obvious delay between the presses and the tailgate responding. I'll put this on 'the list' for my next dealership service visit.

Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

This is just a rumor, but Jeep has something up their sleeve for the 75th anniversary (2016) models. It will take 7 clicks, a pause, then 5 clicks.

This will not only open the lift gate, Sergio singing "Happy Anniversary" will emanate loudly from all speakers. Like the ECO mode on the '14s, the singing feature will always default to on.

This will be featured as a main selling point through the MY16 shortened season.

Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

Not only that, but models with Quadra-Lift will bow to the owner, regardless of his/her approaching direction.

Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

This may have been covered, but did any of you have this BCM update done?

http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_0805314a.pdf

Did it change the behaviours of the gate involved as this addressed a hidden issue with the vehicle not acknowledging first press on the remote...

Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

Just out of curiosity, does the lift gate open with two presses if you use the remote to unlock the doors first?

When Jeep does something like a BCM update, do they update specific issues or do they bring the entire BCM programming 'up to date'?

It works properly with 2 presses if the vehicle acknowledges a press first (lock unlock or other wise but you need to verify with light flash or something)

When they publish updates, they fix a whole bunch of things in that one module. They do not always report all of the fixes as sometimes the issue is related to some other problem, so they report the fix not all the symptoms. Now if they have a vehicle plugged in and are fixing an issue with drivability and do a PCM update... if there is a BCM update showing, they will not do that unless there is an RRT on it or a possibility of some other customer concern. I would need to go into some length to explain the "don't just update everything" mentality but in general, don't fix something that isn't broke (it may make the customer mad because it changes something else).
