Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

our 2011 Overland has an issue with the rear gate closing on it's own. This usually happens when it is cold outside- I suspect the hydraulic cylinder is going bad which the dealer said was a $350 repair. Seems a bit crazy

Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

^^^^ Should be a simple software fix. Are these flash updates available for direct download to a flash drive so we can update our rigs on our own? They darn well better be.

One feature I wish the tailgate had is a sound that'd let me walk away and not have to watch it when closing:

- if an obstruction, honk horn 3x
- if no obstruction and tailgate closes & locks normally, honk horn 1x

Is that available on later models?

lol no download on the flashes unfortunately, the only thing you can download are the uconnect updates. Flashes you are making a trip to the dealer on every one of them. and once you are out of the 3/36 warranty they will start charging you for them.

I was afraid of that. I'm still under warranty but asked my dealer who said they'd be &100-$150 each.

Adding later: I asked how much the cost after the warranty expires.

He's an idiot go to another dealer. If you are under warranty and are experiencing the problem described in the TSB it should be done for nothing. Its better to go in describing the problem and mention there is a TSB to correct it, going in with a stack of TSBs and saying load these often gets a bad response. TSBs are to correct problems that you are experiencing not just a load you are entitled to. That said different dealers handle them differently, my dealer just automatically loads all available without even mentioning it. Others act like they don't even know what a TSB is, strange little pieces of paper they don't know what to do with. Id keep looking until you find a decent dealer

My bad -- I meant, and I asked him what if after the warranty ends, how much then?

Sorry for leaving that part out of it. My dealer is excellent, Stevens Creek in San Jose CA. I recommend them.
