Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

Mine often takes 2 of the 2x to open but I figure is it really that hard to do and worth a trip to the dealer?

I for one figure if I paid over $50K for a vehicle, everything on it better work as designed. I would expect the same on a 20K vehicle.

My 2014 overland does the same most of the time i have to click it 4 times i thought i was just doing it to fast or something. Now that I've seen this post I'll have the dealer check it out whenever my new drivers side headlight comes in they have to get it from the factory one of the DRL led's is out crazy stuff those led's never burn out just bought it last week only 300 miles on it. they said they had to get the entire assembly because the leds are built in $1200 if it were out of warranty.

Seems to be happening to more 2014's than I thought. Let us know if the dealer gets the liftgate remote to operate properly. I'll do the same if/when I decide to let my dealer experiment with a list of things to check that he received from Chrysler's STAR advisors.

Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

Add me to the list. My 2014 GC Overland also takes 2 double clicks to open it sometimes. I have not checked into the pattern (if there is one). I even thought maybe I had to hold for two seconds instead of double click, LOL. Most of the time I use the lever but the key fob at a distance is nice when needed but I never know if it needs 2 clicks or 4.

Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

Mine was requiring four clicks for a while, but reverted back to two.

Did you do anything to get the liftgate to operate with 2 clicks on the keyfob?

I thought that maybe there was an outside chance that the Uconnect update might cure the problem, so I installed the update, but it didn't help.

It 'got better' before I did the update, all by itself. This has got to be the quirkiest vehicle ever.

Didn't you have the PCM changed? Maybe that helped?

I don't recall if it got better before or after the PCM was replaced. Since it has been changed I have had to check "Show turns in cluster" a few times. But (knock on wood) I have not had any warnings or check engine lights come on since then.

I'm hoping this Jeep is going to be like my second new car, a '76 Monte Carlo. It had a lot of little problems, including a leaking rear main bearing seal, as someone here has now. After about six months the dealer had gotten all the bugs out and I wound up keeping that car until '87, 3 times longer than any other car I've owned.

I won't keep the Jeep quite that long, but I'm hoping 4 or 5 years of trouble free service.

Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

All weekend, my took 4 clicks to open the rear gate. Jeep had sat for 1 hour or so in between tries.

I'm sure there will be more as time goes on. Hopefully Chrysler will find a cure, but by the time they do, I'll probably trade for something else.
