Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

So has anyone had a successful cure for the 4 click (instead of 2) keyfob liftgate problem done by a dealer? If so, what did it require to get it to work?

Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

Or is it true that everyone needing 2 double clicks had the doors locked at the time, and it is just funky programming like the remote start A/C stopping when you open the drives door, but not the passengers door?

Nope. My 2012 Overland only required 2 clicks to operate the liftgate, whether it was locked or unlocked. The same applies to the 14's.

Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

It is a vehicle wake issue. It misses the first click somehow, it isn't radio but they are aware. There is an actual tailgate control module, I had a funny issue with unlock on my Durango which there was a programming fix for.

Sometimes I need 2, sometimes 4. It has no connection to the car being locked or unlocked.

Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

Mine used to work 50% of the time with 2 clicks and 50% with 4 clicks. Lately it seems it needs 4 clicks just about all of the time. I have not figured out a pattern yet.

Try pressing gate once.... then try pressing the gate twice.... it is missing the first press.

Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

I've tried every combination of clicks. I posted awhile back that it sometimes worked as you mention. That is no longer the case with my vehicle.

In practice I usually just grab the handle. I've gotten used to leaving the key ring in my pocket. But I continue to experiment. I might start charting the numbers. Maybe it's a code from outer space.

Re: Remote Liftgate Opening

This morning, I unlocked the vehicle via the fob as I was approaching it, then it only took a double-click of the liftgate button for it to open. Still not perfect, but three clicks instead of four, a slight improvement?

I know on mine that when I apply the 2 clicks, I can hear the vehicle waking up. I can see the tach and fuel/temp gauges and shifter handle light up. But usually it takes another 2 clicks for the liftgate to open. Once in a while, just the 2 clicks will open it, but that is a rare occurrence. I know I read of someone on here that had the 2 click for the liftgate problem fixed but I can't find the thread. I think they said the dealer changed some module or something.

Anyway, I'm taking mine in tomorrow for them to run some diagnostic tests that they got from Chrysler for the liftgate. Also to change the air susp control module which will hopefully get rid of the air susp cooling down please wait message.

While I wait for it, I just may take the owners 2014 WK2 SRT out for a test ride.

Should be an interesting day.
