Re: Remote Power Window FOB Function

I checked it on my 2012 and it didn't work, as we all know. On my new 2011, it does work.. Awesome!

I don't understand what your saying.
You already have a 2011 key fob that came with your 2012 Grand Cherokee?

Or you have a 2011 key fob programmed to start your 2012 Grand and the window function doesn't work?

I'm sure the rear flipper glass feature will work for 2012 Grands using the more expensive and more capable 2011 fob. Please expain.

I'm sure the rear flipper glass opening function and the window roll down feature will work if using a 2011 fob programmed to start a 2012 model year Grand Cherokee!
The glass flipper function is gone because they removed the button so if you get a new fob with the button it should work again. The window feature I would imagine is a feature turned off in one of the cars' computer files. Coming from a VW which had easily obtainable software readers / coders I know that you could code all sorts of options to work or not from with in the computer. I imagine that this is where the non-roll down issue is.

Re: Remote Power Window FOB Function

I had to wait a few days to try this because I just had my windows tinted but I tried it and got it work. Will be nice in the summer.

Re: Remote Power Window FOB Function

My 2012 will not roll the windows down when using the key fob trick. Funny because if you got to Jeeps website under the owners sections it tells you that you can roll the windows down with the key fob by pressing unlock and quickly pressing it again and holding it down.

Might be something the dealer can turn on in the SCAN tool but I'd have no clue on how to advise them to do so. Maybe if you print the info from jeep.com and tell them it does it on other 2011's maybe they can find out/ask chrysler if necessary in-order to get it enabled if possible, it seems like a software thing.. Not necessarily missing hardware.

Re: Remote Power Window FOB Function

You have an old manual. Call Jeep CS and they will send you a new one. That feature has been deleted for 2012.

Ditto. Also as I have a 2012 (in which the windows won't even go DOWN) I would like to see the procedure - maybe there is a way to re-enable the windows down for the 2012s. Up alone would be awesome though, since I usually crack the windows in the summer and when a sudden summer rainstorm comes in I don't want to need to walk out to put them up.

plus our overseas friends get power folding mirrors and headlamp washers too, couldn't this be easily added for the N.A. market

We were supposed to get power folding mirrors, it was scratched before production started on the 2011s
