Re: Remote Start Climate Control

Awesome thanks. I'm working with Jeff from Chrysler and he told me he was going to look into the software update and get back to me in the morning. Hopefully this will fix the problem.

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I used my remote start for the first time yesterday on my base Laredo. After running for 10 minutes I got in and it was blowing hot WITH the a/c light ON within the climate control knob. As soon as I hit the start button the Jeep started cooling immediately. It was near 100* here yesterday, if the remote start doesn't pre-cool the vehicle, what's the point of remote start?

Spoke to The Chrysler rep today and he said it looks like the HVAC software update will be released around August 20th. Hopefully it comes sooner.

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

I'm now even more glad to have heard about this forthcoming software fix.

My email to Chrysler got me nowhere -- two conversations with a case manager who allegedly understands my frustration but nonetheless can't help me get anything accomplished. Oh, but I can sleep soundly knowing I can always feel free to call for help. Exactly what "help" I received, I'm not sure.

The possibility that there's an ETA for the fix kept me from losing my mind while she and I talked in circles. And it's damn sure more useful information than I got from her. (Me: "I'm frustrated because some GCs work correctly, but by luck of the draw, mine does not. I'm tired of hearing 'sorry about your luck' as the answer to my problem." Her: "I understand your frustration. Unfortunately there is no solution at this time." Repeat 600 times.)

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

So, my "appointment" with a Chrysler rep did not go as expected, whatsoever. The dealership called to setup the appointment two days ago, two which I responded with "I won't be available until around 11am." They said "Ok, he can probably stick around until then". So, 8:10am today rolls around, and lo and behold, I get a voicemail saying "The Chrysler rep is here, and he's waiting on you". I call back, as soon as I was available (10:45am) and they tell me "Oh, he's already left, he'll try to reschedule with you maybe in the next two weeks".

This is getting absolutely unacceptable. Guess I wait another two weeks? Great. Hearing that there may be a software fix in the works is the only thing keeping me sane at the moment.

This is why I plan to live with it for awhile.......not really a problem as of yet. I'll wait for a real solution and then I'll take it in.

I too will wait until the August tentative date for software fix, maybe fit in my oil change at the same time. I like your sign, btw, LOL.

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

New member, here. I have this problem as well. I actually hadn't realized it until I read this thread, however. I have only had my Jeep for 2 weeks. I too will be looking forward to the solution. What makes this worse is not only does the compressor not kick on to cool the car off, but on my 2012 WK2 you can not roll the windows down from the fob either.
