Yeah that's something they removed on the 2012's.

So here's my latest update.

Received a phone call today from Landmark Jeep, and the service tech on the phone says "So you're going to bring your Jeep in on the 25th of July and I would expect to leave it all day. That's the only day the Chrysler rep has to look at it"
He didn't even ask me if I was free, just TOLD me what I was going to do.

Unfortunately I do work that day, and I'm hoping to have a friend take it over.
Even so, giving me one day with a few days notice is not what I would call "accommodating" considering this 48 thousand dollar vehicle couldn't be delivered in a day either. Don't get me wrong, I love my Jeep, I HATE the dealer.

So.. the Chrysler rep "looked at" my Jeep today. And his answer?
"Everything is in normal operation with your Jeep"

So, I calmly picked up the Jeep and decided to test it myself again, just for the hell of it. I rolled down the passenger window, set the A/C to auto "LO", and shut the vehicle off. Remote started it, and....

HOLY crap it blows cold air out the vents!!

So, still not fully convinced, I drove it home and parked it in my driveway for roughly 30 minutes (plenty of time for it to heat up inside as it was 105 degrees outside)

Performed the exact same procedure, and ONLY hot air came out of the vents. I let the vehicle remote idle for roughly 7 minutes, hoping it would change. It did not. Once I entered the vehicle and pressed the start button as usual, the air became cold again.

What this means for me anyway, is that the problem is completely intermittent and changes as it pleases. This has led the local dealer to believe that I am completely crazy, and that they still see no problem with the Jeep.

My only solution as already said, is to wait until the software update comes and visit another dealer to request it. We shall see, I guess.
Sorry for somewhat redundant posts guys. Just wanted to share my intermittent frustration.

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

If you have been using the ac and running the car like normal then everything is still cold and the air will still blow cold for a while. You can really only test to see if it works after all the ac duct work and system has warmed back up to regular temp again. If i remote start mine after driving around town with the ac blasting then yes the air still feels cold coming from the blower motor. its like a false reading

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

I called the dealer last week and they told me they still haven't received anything, I'll call my Chrysler guy this week and ask him.

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

After reading this thread, and since it's 78 outside, I decided to test out my 2012 Overland (bought in April, so probably Feb or March build) in the parking lot. I have the EVIC remote comfort checked, and remote started the JGC and let it run for about 30 seconds. When I got in the car (without hitting the start button), the "Auto" indicator is off on my climate control (it was set on Auto before I turned off the car), but the air blowing is distinctly cooler than the interior or exterior atmosphere. When I turned the car on with the start button, the air remained at the same temperature but now the "Auto" indicator is on on the climate control.

My take is that the AC seems to work with mine remote start, but I've noticed the AC in the JGC isn't quite as strong as some I've experienced in other cars - but it does the job. What did bother me was the seat cooler wasn't on, maybe because the temperature wasn't high enough.

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

Sounds like your system is working as it should.

If I recall correctly, 80 degrees F is the magic number for the ventilated seats.

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

78 degree temps would be awesome! It was 113 degrees outside when I entered my Jeep after work and on the way home. I sure hope this software update comes through. It could really take the bite off the heat if I use remote start soon enough before I need to leave.

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

Thanks for the info Summit - I will need to test the remote start for the ventilated seats on a hotter day - looks like tomorrow.

I hope you get the fix soon SummitOverland. Your type of temperature practically demands pre drive off AC!
