Re: Remote Start Climate Control

Add me to the list. I took delivery of an Overland V8 in late June and the remote start hasn't ever turned on the AC compressor. I agree with the group, what good is it if it doesn't activate the AC. Mine just blows HOT air, the car not the dealer.

Patience my friends, a fix should be out soon. I am in the same boat and it sucks getting into a steamy car but it helps knowing there is an update in sight.

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

Just purchased 2012 Limited and mine seems to work just fine, did I get lucky? Confirmed that the temp reading on the control unit is blank and only comes on once I open the door. I tested it serveral times with having the window down and running the engine for 5-10 min, nothing but cold blowing air

Would be nice if you could have your windows roll up and sunroof close while holding the lock button dowen on the key fob.

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

I just checked my 3 wk old JGC - I have the issue. I started it and ran it for about 5 min after church. Opened the door and it was blowing hot air. I will follow this thread and get the reflash when it is out. Thanks for the heads up guys.

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

I tested my '12 Overland and it too doesn't start cooling until I get into the car. Let us know what you hear from your dealer. (I thought mine did used to cool with auto-start but can't be certain)

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

Add me to the list, I thought I figured it out by having it set to auto then remote starting it worked only after car was running previously. Other wise no cold air until door is opened like everyone else.

Fourth issue with the truck still great though.

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

I have a 2012 Overland Summit and I put a digital temperature probe in one of the vents and did a remote start with the A/C buton pushed and the fan turned all the way up, when I opened the door the temperature on the probe was in the 80's and the A/C light was off, but as soon as I opened the door the light came on and the temperature started to drop since the compressor kicked in when the door was opened, the only way I could get cold air doing a remote start was if I put the system on AUTO before I stopped the engine this way it was in that mode when I started it back up with the remote start.

I feel that whatever mode you have it in A/C or Auto and you do a remote start it should come on and start to cool the car down should not have to remember to push the AUTO button before you get out of the car.

Is the software update that is coming out going to solve the problom of the compressor not coming on when you have the system only in A/C mode?

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

I miss the days of controlling the AC and fans with knobs. I was excited with the remote start feature of my GC, my first factory installed remote start. I find out that it doesn't cool down the inside of the car like you would expect it when you need it most

I also have a 2012 Overland Summit and the climate control is always on auto and it doesn't work......auto or not.
