Re: Remote Start Climate Control

All the time I thought they have changed this cooling on new models. I have a 3 week old 2012 JGC Altitude and was really disappointed when I remote started it and no cold air when I hopped in, and i tried all possible settings on the vehicle. I hope they could resolve this soon.

"Everything is in normal operation with your Jeep"

So, I calmly picked up the Jeep and decided to test it myself again, just for the hell of it. I rolled down the passenger window, set the A/C to auto "LO", and shut the vehicle off. Remote started it, and....

HOLY crap it blows cold air out the vents!!

So, still not fully convinced, I drove it home and parked it in my driveway for roughly 30 minutes (plenty of time for it to heat up inside as it was 105 degrees outside)

Performed the exact same procedure, and ONLY hot air came out of the vents. I let the vehicle remote idle for roughly 7 minutes, hoping it would change. It did not. Once I entered the vehicle and pressed the start button as usual, the air became cold again.

What this means for me anyway, is that the problem is completely intermittent and changes as it pleases. This has led the local dealer to believe that I am completely crazy, and that they still see no problem with the Jeep.

My only solution as already said, is to wait until the software update comes and visit another dealer to request it. We shall see, I guess.
Sorry for somewhat redundant posts guys. Just wanted to share my intermittent frustration.

Identical story here!!

My JGC has the same problem as everyone else, except for the one time I have it at the dealership.

Mechanic has windows rolled down and is starting/re-starting with fob to show me how climate blows cold air when remote started. I'm wondering if the windows down have anything to do with it--maybe the alarm doesnt reset itself?

Naturally once I get home the same hot air blows from the vents when I remote start the car.

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

I just turned the remote start comfort system on and it worked great! At least with the A/C haven't gotten the opportunity to try the heat and heated seats in cold.

Have a 2011 JGC Laredo X

once the system has had cold air blown through the system it will still stay cold and feel cold during numerous restarts...even though each time it will be getting warmer and warmer. If you go and unplug your refrigerator it will still feel cold for quite a few hours after not working...same concept

I thought you were right. Until I let my car sit for a few days without driving it, I sat in the backseat and did the remote start to see if my A/C would turn on. It did but was on very low. Still it worked! Very cool feature!

Nothing yet when I went to the dealer for an oil change last week. I'm dropping it off next weekend for them to give it a try.

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

My Chrysler guy I've been working on my Star case with is going to call me back tomorrow and let me know what the latest status is and if a fix has been released. Will post when he lets me know.
