If I had left the GC in Auto or AC mode when I turned it off in hot weather, mine will be cooling when I remote start it. Although with the limited range of the remote, it does not cool down much by the time I walk the 150 ft or so to my GC. So IMHO, the feature is pretty much worthless. If I really wanted to use the feature, I would order the optional Mopar extended range remotes that increase the starting distance up to "800 feet".
A big part of the issue in my opinion, is that what the system will turn on in cold or hot weather is based on the temperature sensor reading when the GC was last parked. So if you park it at 65 deg F in the early morning
and it is 90 deg F when you come out at lunch, the AC will not turn on if you are in Auto mode. If you had parked the GC in manual AC mode, it will turn on.
In the winter I have the opposite problem. The sensor is still reading 20 deg F when I park in my heated garage at work in the morning. When I leave at lunch or the end of the day my GC is sitting in a 70 deg F garage and the heater is blasting, heated seat on and the rear defroster on - when then do not need to be.
