Has anyone in any year WK2 been able to get their remote start to turn on the HVAC system BEFORE opening the door. I'm not asking about the remote start comfort system responding to set temps and activating cooled/heated seats. I have been to the dealership and they told me that my system is working properly but if i leave my heater or AC on and then remote start my car the heater or AC will only turn back on after opening the door, I can't imagine why anyone would design a system to work this way.
i've had the TSB referenced in this thread done and at proper temps my ac/heat kick in via the "remote start comfort system"
Is there any way to get my heat or AC to kick in with my last settings when using remote start regardless of temp BEFORE opening the door. Before opening the door I get nothing coming from the vents but after opening the door everything turns on as I left it.
Here's what I found after taking a quick look through the previous posts in this thread:
As stated by Chrysler. "The HVAC system should return to the function you left the system on, when the vehicle was last shut off. If it does not resume function, this is an issue."
The Remote start comfort system does not determine when the heat and/or AC is activated.
Remote Start Comfort Systems
— If Equipped
When remote start is activated, the heated steering
wheel, and driver heated seat features will automatically
turn on in cold weather. In warm weather, the driver
vented seat feature will automatically turn on when the
remote start is activated. These features will stay on
through the duration of remote start or until the ignition
switch is turned to the ON/RUN position.
The Remote Start Comfort System can be activated and
deactivated through the Electronic Vehicle Information
Center (EVIC). For more information on Remote Start
Comfort System operation refer to “Electronic Vehicle Information
Center (EVIC)/Customer-Programmable Features
(SETUP)” in “Understanding Your Instrument Panel”.
If the TSB did not correct your issue, it's possible the HVAC Control Module or the TIPM might be the problem.
I realize there is a lot to read in this thread, but at least one poster had the HVAC module replaced and the issue was fixed. The TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) replacement resolved the issue for me.
