Re: Remote Start Climate Control

Yeah, it would help greatly if we could go to our dealers and give a specific part nomenclature or part number.

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

Called the Farrish Service department today and talked to a rep. He said, well "I'm not sure it will be able to cool/heat up the inside of the car with the remote start. Jeep may have disabled that in fear of overheating the car with you not inside it" I then asked him what the point of a remote start was and he responded with "well I'm not sure, I'd have to look into it".

Just amazed at the responses from these people. I'll be calling Chrysler corporate tomorrow.

So here's a question for you. Were you having A/C issues with it not being as cold as it should be / going warm, as well as the remote start issue? And if so, did the replacement part fix both issues?

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

My AC worked fine it just did not turn on the comPressor with remote start. I will try and get back by the dealer and pick up the receipt so we will have the part number this weekend

Ok. On a side note, I got a reply to my email and it said?! "Please take your vehicle to a dealer for any diagnosis"
SERIOUSLY?
Guess I'll have to call again.

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

I too have the same problem and after a lot of go-around with Chrysler and the dealer, they are going to replace the TIPM. I believe it's the Totally Integrated Power Module. I will be back there in 1 week to have it replaced. I will let everyone know if it corrects my problem.

Along with no A-C upon remote start, my ventilated seat does not turn on if it's hot in the car upon remote start up. I do have "remote start comfort system" checked in the EVIC.

Do you guys with the no A-C problem also have the no ventilated seat problem?

My ventilated seats turn on like they should. My only two problems are A/C temp when running, and the no A/C when remote started issue.

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

I just checked the manual for my 2012 Overland, p. 324, and under remote start auto comfort it states that if it is 80 degrees F the vented seat will turn on, but nothing about the ac turning on. I believe this past winter when it was below 40 F the heat would turn on plus the heated steering wheel and seat. I haven't tried remote start in 80 plus temps yet b/c it hasn't been that hot. Can anyone tell me if the ac should also go on and whether I have to set the temp controls to a particular setting when I shut the car off so it will go on next time I start w/ remote?
