As stated by Chrysler. "The HVAC system should return to the function you left the system on, when the vehicle was last shut off. If it does not resume function, this is an issue."

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

That "summer" scenario doesn't sound right.

As stated by Chrysler. "The HVAC system should return to the function you left the system on, when the vehicle was last shut off. If it does not resume function, this is an issue."

If you have the ventilated seats. They will turn on only if you have "remote start comfort system" selected in the EVIC. and the sensor senses the required temperature.

In winter conditions, the heated steering wheel and seats will come on automatically.

From the manual:

Remote Start Comfort Systems — If Equipped
When remote start is activated, the heated steering
wheel, and driver heated seat features will automatically
turn on in cold weather. In warm weather, the driver
vented seat feature will automatically turn on when the
remote start is activated. These features will stay on
through the duration of remote start or until the ignition
switch is turned to the ON/RUN position.
The Remote Start Comfort System can be activated and
deactivated through the Electronic Vehicle Information
Center (EVIC). For more information on Remote Start
Comfort System operation refer to “Electronic Vehicle Information
Center (EVIC)/Customer-Programmable Features
(SETUP)” in “Understanding Your Instrument Panel”.

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

Thank You so much, Primerate. I will pass this information onto my service dept. and suggest they replace Control A 24024161 and don't replace the TIPM.

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

In a somewhat related topic. If you don't have the Remote Start Comfort Systems, what is the benefit of remote start, warming up the engine and circulating the air?

Re: Remote Start Climate Control

With remote start you can run the A-C in the summer or heat/defrost in the winter. Comfort System activates ventilated seats, or heated seats/heated steering wheel depending on ambient temperature.

Hmm, ok, so I might actually benefit from this part that Primerate posted. I can remote start the GC but no cool air even after 5 or 10 minutes.
