I was traveling today in temperatures 100 plus with very high humidity. Wife and I stopped for lunch and where I was sitting was just inside the restaurant with my 2013 JGC just outside the window. SO HOT OUTSIDE !!!! 5 minutes before we were ready to get back in the Jeep I decided to remote start it so the A/C could cool down the inside. I saw the lights go on, so was pretty sure it did start. Got out to the car, it was running, but it was as hot as hell inside. I had all the controls set on high, fan on high, but nothing went on until I opened the door. Anyone know Why it would do that. Makes no sense for it to be set up that way. So we left it running, locked it and went back into the restaurant so it could cool down. I do believe it always did that but it sure seems wrong. The A/C works very well, but had to wait inside the restaurant 5 minutes to cool down. Your comments please. Thanks so much. Paul
Thanks xJoshxx. I got the updates done a few days ago. I tried it out and the a/c does now go on. The fan speed is on like #3 then when I open the door it goes up to where I had it set (HIGH). Then I shut off the a/c and turned on the HEAT to make sure that also worked with winter coming, but I did not get heat. It seemed like the a/c was still on although the a/c LED WAS NOT. I wonder if that is because the outdoor temp was at 80 degrees. Possibly when the temp goes down it will put out heat. The dealer also did 3 other updates involving the transmission and drive line.
Can anyone verify if this will work if you installed the auto hvac as an upgrade? My Jeep does the same thing, seems like the fan blows but the ac will not kick in...
If you installed the automatic I doubt it, i did it on my 2011 WK2 had remote start added after the HVAC upgrade and I had the same issue Fan blows nothing else.
atleast on 2011's you can remotely roll the windows down with the remote tho
My '16 does the same in the summer. I auto start it and the AC does start, but only blows at low speed. It's irritating because my '12 always blew at the same settings as when you last left it. I really hope that it doesn't do it this winter. My '12 would start up with the last heat and heated seat setting.
Yes I was also disappointed to see the fan speed at a lower setting. Why not on High? Sure would make sense to me. As I mentioned the dealer did flash the transmission and drive line. It did make an improvement on acceleration. Sometimes taking off from a stop light it would feel as if the tires would slightly slip as if hitting a small icy patch in the winter. That is now gone.
