Remove headrest cover?

Installing my leather seats and stuck on the headrests. Have them off, but can't figure out how to remove the cover. The back plastic piece doesn't seem to want to come off.

Anyone that has installed seatcovers have any advice?

Re: Remove headrest cover?

Never mind, figured it out. The back pops off, but it is pretty tough. Here's a picture for whoever needs to do this next.

I think I've added "install leather seats" to my list of things never to do myself again. The list seems to be getting longer as I get older....

Re: Remove headrest cover?

are those the active head restraints, is there any chance that they will "go off" or spring out or whatever it is they do

Yes, they are the active ones. Shouldn't be any chance of them going off without power. I pulled and pushed pretty hard in all directions before I finally figured it out.

Re: Remove headrest cover?

The active head restraint uses an electric motor to operate.

Ha ha I say that every time I install a leather interior but I take the knowledge to make the next job easier
