Rough Kickdown 545rfe 2011 WK2

Went offroading yesterday and promptly got stuck in some mud. I tried to rock myself out but to no avail. Got pulled out by my buddy.

Today, the transmission has a rough kickdown shift. It is harsh shifting down the first gear and smooth on the second. The transmission fluid is pink but has an awful smell to it.

Did I smoke my torque converter?

The transmission has always had a shudder under moderate acceleration from a stop through first gear, so I am wondering if this finally did it in?

Re: Rough Kickdown 545rfe 2011 WK2

One of the guys I work with has a star scan tool. Came up with codes p1521 and p0218

P1521 incorrect oil type
P0218 high temp operation activated

Oil was changed on Tuesday, went wheeling on Wednesday evening. I read a little about the incorrect oil type code which apparently causes a delay in activation of cylinders, which is what it feels like. A hesitation or stumble while cruising with suddenly heavy throttle input.

Any thoughts?
