Routine Maintenance Costs

I've never taken a vehicle to the dealership for routine maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, etc.), but I'm thinking I will with my GC Summit once it arrives.

I know prices will vary, but what is the typical price for this at a dealership?

My dealer charges $24 for an oil change and $10 for the tire rotation. Usually only takes 20 minutes.

Wow, that's not nearly as much as I thought it would be!

Re: Routine Maintenance Costs

It will vary from dealer to dealer, and there are often specials and coupons available. Your dealer is only a phone call away for actual pricing. Get on their mailing list for promotions and coupons, and check online for specials too. My dealer gave me three free years of oil changes when I purchased my Jeep, and I hear that's not real unusual. Around here a dealer oil change probably averages around $30 without any specials.

Jeep dealer service hourly rates is one reason I moved away from "luxury" brands for our main vehicle.

This is all great to hear - Not much more than actually doing it myself! Problem is, I'm the most trustworthy person I know!

Yeah, I had a 2006 Lexus is250. Nice car, fun to drive, beautiful dealership with loaners etc. However $108 for tire rotation and oil change and you quickly realize why they can give loaner cars.

My jeep dealer is as nice inside as the Lexus dealer was. Good coffee. They have monitors on the wall so you can watch the crew work on your car. They do good work.

Completely agreee - My wife has a ES350 so I know exactly what you are talking about. That's a big reason why I change it myself!

One nice thing about the 2014 GC is there isn't a whole lot of scheduled maintenance to do prior to 100,000 miles under normal use if you follow the maintenance schedule in the book. spark plugs-100k, coolant-150K, transfer case-120K, PCV- 100k, trans fluid- never(lol).
so then you got oil around 10k and air filter 30K cabin 20K and unscheduled stuff like brake pads, wiper blades and whatever else. but generally not a whole lot the first 100k by the book. Ill be a little more aggressive on some of those because I don't believe in fill for life anything but definitely better scheduled maintenance than past vehicles.

Re: Routine Maintenance Costs

My dealer offered free oil changes for life when I purchased my GC. I pay for the oil filter only. I take my Mercedes to him as he is $50.00 cheaper than the MB dealer, which is a 100 miles away.

Re: Routine Maintenance Costs

Just got an oil change last week. Total came to just under $40.00 then they charge $20 for a tire rotation. If I would use them, Chrysler sells 4 oil changes for 70. But they have to be used within 2 years. I don't put enough miles on to use them. I usually go elsewhere anyway, just in for a sunroof fix so I got it done too.

Re: Routine Maintenance Costs

My local dealer has a $29.95 oil change coupon I found here.
Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge Service Specials
I never buy anything anymore without first looking online for coupons.
