Any pics of the warped trim?
You can see the gap (hopefully) between the bottom of the windshield and the rubber trim.

Re: Rubber trim around front windshield

The dealer replaced the rubber trim around the windshield today. The new trim fits perfectly; they did a great job. This is an instance where the dealer has improved upon the "fit and finish" produced at the factory.

Mine has the same problem, I just hate dealing with my service department.

Re: Rubber trim around front windshield

My dealer(Pt. Jeff Jeep) gave me no issue. They took pictures and replaced the part a week later with no issues.

They said the warped rubber will cause no issue as the windshield is sealed. The part is purely an appearance item BUT they agreed with NO ISSUE that the jeep is too new to drive around with it like it was.

BTW part is called "Grill Cowl Top"

Re: Rubber trim around front windshield

Yeah looks like mine is starting to do the same ( if that is the only problem i experience, then i will forgive them overthere in motor city!

Anyway ordered mine in may and it was delivered here to Perth Western Australia in mid August.

Therefore i don't suspect UV issues as we haven't had a really hot day yet but i hate to think what it will be like come next april!!!

I'll keep an eye on it (good to know it doesn't affect watertightness) and i'll see the dealer if it gets worse!

Re: Rubber trim around front windshield

I've had my Overland since September 2010. I am on my third windshield now. After it was replaced the last time, I had severe wind noise when driving over 65. The rubber trim was very loose and not adhering to the windshield anymore. I had the windshield guy prime and reglue it the other day. It is already pulling away from the windshield.
Question: Is the entire strip supposed to be stuck to the windshield or does it allow for any gap at the top of it? If it is, I guess I will need to bring it back to the dealer. I told them about the noise, but they didn't do anything about it.

Re: Rubber trim around front windshield

The rubber trim at the bottom of the windshield is not supposed to be glued to the windshield. It is supposed to lay flat on it. If it is warped , there will be a gap between the rubber trim and the windshield. Several of us have had the dealer replace this trim under warranty with good results.

Re: Rubber trim around front windshield

Hmmm, just noticed mine has warped up for about 3 or 4 inches directly in front of the driver. It's a 10/10 manufacture and I've had it 8 months with a little over 7000 miles. I'll have to remember to point that out at my next oil change.

Re: Rubber trim around front windshield

I've got three separate places on mine where it is warped and pulls away from the windshield. At 70-75 mph it starts to vibrate loudly. Took it to the dealer I bought it from and they told me it was not a warranty item. They wanted $250 for the part and $ 250 for labor... 500 dollar plastic?

Unless the windshield was replaced by a third party, how is a poorly installed windshield not a warranty issue?
I am the imminent new owner of a 14 SRT and the apparent poor warranty service by Chrysler is beginning to play on my mind.
I am a recent ex Ford owner, and had a brake light and headlight lamp out.
I took it to the dealer, and to my surprise, the lamps were supplied and installed under warranty. This was 2 years and 11 months into a three year warranty.
They also replaced worn rear suspensions bushes under warranty at the same time.
Fingers crossed my decision to give Chrysler a look in doesn't turn out to be a poor one.
