Did they attempt to perform the recall and your vehicle failed the leakdown test?
They won't answer the question, just it is safe to drive. Much like talking to a lawyer. They did something when they stated they would call when the part arrives (paperwork doesn't show anything).
Personally, I would not be surprised it is failing the leak test. When new you would go out the next morning and the brake pedal was still soft (like most cars I have owned you could get 2-3 pumps out of the pedal before it got hard). Now after 1/2 a day of just sitting the pedal is hard as a rock. Noticed the slow degradation before the recall and wasn't surprised when I heard they issued one.
Going to another dealer isn't an easy option due to distance between them. Not everyone lives with multiple local dealers. I realize this is an option, but when my dealer is walking distance from work, Chrysler really should fix their dealer problems if that is the case. Also, my dealer ranks very high compared to the next nearest ones. I've been surprised that everything with Jeep is always something I should do different or accept because that is just part of owning a Jeep.
