So far QL works fine so I'm guessing some cars have problems but not all thank god
That's right, some don't have the problem. My MY2012 never had the problem. My Jeep manages soft sand easily on the flat at 16psi, not so easily on the dunes but with a little less pressure it would probably be OK.

Aug 2012 overland here with hemi. Took it out to the dunes and beach at wilbinga today near perth and had the error come up after about half an hour driving along the beach- serv 4wd, service air suspension, FCW off.

Luckily I was in low range and whilst it dropped the height to normal, it stayed in 4lo and I continued on merrily (ok I was shitting myself waiting to go into rwd and sink)

I was in sand mode and driving behind a friend in some very rutted soft sand. "Esc off" light was on as it does in sand mode but the Esc light was flashing occasionally and I could hear / feel it correcting the car's attitude as it slid in the ruts. Once on a straighter stretch the issue cleared and didn't return. I have a feeling the system simply overheats, gets confused and gives up for a while.

Overall considering its on 20's with the stock tyres I was impressed. I started at 18psi but was struggling. Dropped to 12 and was fairly unstoppable. Went everywhere my mate in his patrol ute with big tyres went (he aired down to 15) Good times.

It's great that you enjoyed yourself. However, so that you can do it again without having to stress about bogging down in 2WD, take your car to the dealer and ask for the "sand fix" to be installed. If he doesn't know what that is, tell him it's covered by Techical Service Bulletin TSB 21-003-13 but you would be better off going to a dealer who knows.

It's due it's 2000km from being due it's 24k service so I'll be mentioning it to them. I took photos of the warning lights on when it happened so hopefully they sort it!

Hey, I would also get them to check the air suspension. As far as I know the classic symptoms of the serv 4wd error do not include the air suspension warning (and I've experienced the serv 4wd issue first hand). The ESC light flashing is normal, and often the "FCW off" happens when sand etc covers the radar sensor (I find this happens very frequently when beach driving). Good luck.

Re: SAND driving - Have you had a problem with your GC?

So from what I have read no 2013 or 2014 models have had any issues.
