Seat wear at 12,000 miles

Does anyone have a solution to prevent this type of seat wear? I have the BMW leather conditioner and have applied it several times but it's still wearing/ fading.

WARRANTY. Take it to the dealer and get them to order a replacement seat.

Really? Will they replace? I didn't think interior was covered under warranty?

Re: Seat wear at 12,000 miles

Sorry, I can't see much wrong from the photos. I have 16,000km, beige seats with no signs of wear. You're not the first Saddle seat owner to complain.

Isn't that considered a "wearable" item for warranty purposes?

Re: Seat wear at 12,000 miles

It's nit really that bad in person but it's starting to wear. I'm a little hyper-sensitive to the wear on the seats as my suburbans old seats were worn out on the sides.

Re: Seat wear at 12,000 miles

It is a dyed seat and the color will wear and rub off in time (only on the high stress areas). Even my Range Rover had the same problem. There were a lot of owners that had to have the seats dyed again. Depending on your dealer and the relationship you have with them they might replace it, but it is a normal wear item.

Re: Seat wear at 12,000 miles

This forum a while back had a thread or two about this. Someone I think tried to get the seat replaced with a new one under warranty. These were people with the saddle color also. I can't remember if they got a new seat under warranty but if you can search and find the thread it might say.

Is there any kind of solution or product that can be put on the leather to prevent wear or bring the color back?

Nothing that I know of to prevent wear unless you wax the heck out of the seats. If normal conditioner or leather oil doesn't change the color the dye has been rubbed off. You can always try a light brown shoe polish to see if that colors it enough.

Re: Seat wear at 12,000 miles

you drove 12,000 miles in 4 months
warranty item? yeah right
next thing you know people will be claiming gym membership fees on Jeep's dime to work out their bums as they get in and get out of the car

if you're so worried about seat wear just buy some seat covers, and wow 12,000 miles in 4 months

Re: Seat wear at 12,000 miles

You need to get on the happy path and start posting stuff that you like about the Jeep, you seem to have so many problems/dilemmas within the past few months since it arrived!

Go wash, wax and post some pictures! Enjoy the vehicle! Although it is a bummer to have stuff break, but seat wear might be a tough one for warranty its only 4 months but your at 12,000 already. Thats alot of seat time in a short time period.
