Unhappy Seats Turning Blue

Hey guys,

I've had my new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee for a couple weeks now. I've got the Laredo X package with the light gray interior and leather seats. I got in the truck today and noticed that my seats were discoloring blue.

I'm sure this has to do with the dye from my jeans being transfered into the leather, but I've never been wet or anything when getting in the car. Is there a way to prevent this? Also, is there a safe way to restore the leather back to its original color? If it looks this bad after a week I'm afraid that its going to look absolutely horrendous in a few months.

Mike

Wear light gray colored jeans from now on....problem solved!

Or:

Hope that helps...or do a google search.

Re: Seats Turning Blue

Your just going to have to wipe your seats down with some leather cleaner/wipes. I have the same interior and it comes right off.

Re: Seats Turning Blue

I tried leather cleaner, but not impressed. On the other hand, when I am driving I don't notice it!

My wifes SRX has the tan leather and her jeans/leather coats were coming off. Someone recommended "leather magic" ink and stain remover. I got some off the internet and WOW....this stuff is awesome.

I had the EXACT same thing happen to my 01 WJ's leather seating. It was light grey and eventually were stained.

Since then I have avoided light colored interiors. All my following Jeeps were Dark Grey 05 WK 08 JK
