Re: Service Bulletin 21-006-13 '09-'12 WK/'09-'10 XK 5.7L FLASH: Transmission

I can honestly say I noticed a difference with the update. Most noticeable for me is the acceleration after a rolling turn. No dead space or hunting, just power now. Real nice.

Re: Service Bulletin 21-006-13 '09-'12 WK/'09-'10 XK 5.7L FLASH: Transmission

I stumbled across this thread by accident....

Had my 12 5.7 Overland at the dealer for another issue (stalling after start, not being able to restart) and the service advisor mentioned that the tech applied a "flash" due to a TSB.

I actually didnt even to bother to ask what for, but on driving home I noticed the tranny behaving differently (a little more sporty/aggressive) and figured that the flash was transmission related.

Conclusion:honestly not knowing what the flash was for, I could immediately tell the transmission behavior had changed for the better.

I see by your follow on post, Buckeye, that you are liking the flash so far. Please let us know how this one affects your MPG, if at all.

That's good. I still need to get this done. I need to get the Nav TSB done too since it loses the home address once in a while.

I had this TSB installed this morning...noticeable change even pulling out of the dealer property afterward. I have some vacation travel coming in the near future, so I'll have time in the car to really ascertain the overall benefit.

Any updates from the guys who've posted positive comments about this TSB? My experience with the lazy shifting/slow downshifts is identical. I had the TSB applied last week and did not notice any change in shifting characteristics. My vehicle is still sluggish.

Re: Service Bulletin 21-006-13 '09-'12 WK/'09-'10 XK 5.7L FLASH: Transmission

I had mine done this past Saturday. They wound up doing the 21-004-13 and the 21-006-13 updates. Huge difference has been noticed. It almost felt like driving a different vehicle in that I don't have to push the accelerator as much to get it to move and respond. The lugging is gone....didn't realize how much I was having to put my foot into it to move.
The only down side (jokingly) is that the Volant intake doesn't sound as mean without the engine lugging like it did.

Had my PCM reflashed this afternoon. Won't know until this week if there's an improvement.

Re: Service Bulletin 21-006-13 '09-'12 WK/'09-'10 XK 5.7L FLASH: Transmission

Had the TSB applied this past Sat. along with other preventive maintenance and it honestly feels like a totally different Jeep. Feels more nimbler and responsive in auto and when in sport mode (when the bump and hesitation was more pronounced on our vehicle)...it drives smooth and picks up quick. Even the wife noticed the difference...now thats saying a lot!

Mine seems to be settling back to a bit of sluggishness but it is much better than it was

Had mine done this morning with 5,683 miles on it and there is a BIG difference, especially in ECO mode. If it stays like this I will be very happy! Dave
