Service questions

New to the site, 2014 diesel Laredo. 39km
Any feed back about using after market filters, ie Ryco,Wesfil ?
Do dealers allow it while still in warranty.
Is it a good idea ?
Thanks.

Re: Service questions

You might get faster answers in the diesel section, but they cannot void a warranty for you doing your own maintenance.

Re: Service questions

Just save the receipts for the oil and filters.

Re: Service questions

From your owner's manual:

REPLACEMENT PARTS
Use of genuine MOPAR® parts for normal/scheduled
maintenance and repairs is highly recommended to ensure
the designed performance. Damage or failures
caused by the use of non-MOPAR® parts for maintenance
and repairs will not be covered by the New Vehicle
Limited Warranty.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Those two words spell out the answer from the horses mouth.

Mopar parts are not required.
To deny warranty repairs they have to show that a non-Mopar item caused the damage.

Re: Service questions

Just use OEM, that way FCA is on the hook if something goes wrong with the part. It may be a little more expensive, but what price is peace of mind worth to you? It's worth the extra $$ to me.
