Service Schedule - V6 vs. V8

Hi all,

I recently upgraded from a 2011 WK2 Laredo X with 2wd and the V6 to a 2014 WK2 Overland with 4x4 and the Hemi.

My new car has around 45,000 miles and is about due for an oil change. I've searched around, but couldn't find an answer for what I'm looking for.

My question for you guys is this - what do I need to tell my mechanic to look out for when I bring it in for a full service/inspection? My 2011 V6 4x2 was fairly low maintenance, and I'm not sure exactly what needs to be done differently for the V8 (e.g., doesn't it need new spark plugs?).

Around 45,000 miles with a limited service history, are there any major items to look out for?

It's all in the owners manual. If you don't have one, you can download it at Jeep.com under the owners tab.

What he said, with the strong recommendation to pay attention and do just that unless you know your local service dealer extremely well and they don't try to sell you on "dealer recommended maintenance".

I'd sniff the fluids, ask them to check for open recalls, etc.
You can look at the brake booster to see if that one is there.
Good idea to surf wk2jeeps.com to get familiar with the TSBs and recalls.

I've discovered the air cleaner tends to get pretty mungy at about the same rate as the oil gets changed, but I let mine play in the dirt a lot on weekends.

Cabin air filter is easy to change yourself... and the carbon impregnated one fits nicely.

Some folks have hit leaking water pumps at your mileage, YMMV.

The hemi shouldn't be using much oil at all at your mileage. I rarely need to top mine up at about 50K now.

Re: Service Schedule - V6 vs. V8

Beginning in 2014, the spark plug change interval for the Hemi was increased to 100K miles.
