Oh, that makes sense. Sorry, I must have misunderstood what you were getting at. Apparently to focused on the topic of the recall, not thinking about all flashes that would/could be done at the same time.

Hmmmm. Not sure. I did try it and it parked, but I tried it from reverse. I'll give it another shot tomorrow (if I remember) from drive and let you know if it parks from there too. I suspect it will, but can't confirm it right now.

I think the fix for the confusing shifter (supposedly) is more confusing than the shifter

Re: Shifter recal yes or no

The only issue I've ever had with the 2014/15 shifter is the transition from DRIVE to REVERSE.

And no software update is going to fix that issue.

So... NO, I won't be getting this Shifter Recall done.

i hear ya but...one of the four flashes (TCM) may alter your shifting. The may is a WILL for anyone like me who is not current on TCM flashes because they like their shifting and the more recent flash changes it in an undesirable way so we have been avoiding getting the updated TCM flash. This recall, if done, will bring the trans flash rev level current for sure so if you are current on TCM flash then theoretically you will not notice any difference....the problem will come into play when they release subsequent TCM flash that I want/need...the new shifting and recall stuff will be in there fo' shizzle.....

Do I understand correctly?
I can have door open and seat belt unchecked as long as I'm in 4 Lo it will not auto shift to park.

Re: Shifter recal yes or no

You understand it correctly. Auto Park is deactivated when 4 low is engaged, so it will function as if the update was never done. If in 4 low, it will NOT go into park automatically.

Re: Shifter recal yes or no

Okay, so apparently not all dealerships are giving out the flier.

Here's a shot of the front and back of it. Nothing fancy, just yellow card stock that explains Auto Park and when it activates. My dealership had it sitting on the center console next to the shifter when I picked my Jeep back up.

Haha. Purely my curiosity at this point. I wasn't going to go out of my way to get it performed, but since I was already there, figured, what is 3 hours of my life?

Anyways, I tried it again this morning in a parking stall at work, and it functioned as advertised. Worked from Drive and Reverse. So maybe the first time I tried from Drive, I didn't give it enough time. However, this morning, it did seem very quick to "auto-park" after releasing the brake.

I have noticed some other items change in the instrument cluster. For example, when turning cruise control on and of, they added the cruise control icon to go with the text. Also, when setting a speed, it now says, "Cruise set to 65 mph."

Anyone notice any other difference?

yeah I bet they always have a bullpen of various updates to various systems that are in the "wait to jump aboard an important update" category

I think some, in testing this, might get caught in "violation" of the 5 sec rule as well so it won't Auto-Park....I guess FCA figures this fix is only for the non-thinking in/out situations vs a more thoughtful combo of circumstances...
