I've seen people here that didn't have it initially....

Re: Shudder--Do all GC's have it?

i am on vacation and coincidentally got a Laredo V6 from National Rental Car. The V6 is great. Plenty of pep and power at all speeds. Transmission shifts very well and is seamless. absolutely no shudder. My point of reference is the car i will be selling to buy a GC - my 5-series BMW

Re: Shudder--Do all GC's have it?

I noticed that I had it on a 500 mile trip to Vermont. Noticed it bad when there was a load on the engine going up the mountains.

Here is the Technical Service Bulletin on this issue
http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_2100410a.pdf

Here is the TSB site link
http://www.wk2jeeps.com/wk2_tsb.htm#NEW

I do notice I can tell when the four cylinders drop out in ECO mode. I can hear the exhaust note change and a slight vibration. Are you sure this is not what you are experiencing and calling "shudder?"

Re: Shudder--Do all GC's have it?

will someone please describe this shudder?

the closest thing I've had to a shudder in my 4x4 Hemi is when slowing to a stop, there is *sometimes* a slight shudder/vibration around 15-30 mph. Doesn't happen often, though. Is this the type of shuddering folks are talking about?

GlowingGhoul has much to be proud of
Re: Shudder--Do all GC's have it?

I thought the shudder only happened when going 30 to 40 mph, then gently acccelerating. Feels like it's in the wrong gear, but from all the other info, seems like its the front driveshaft wobbling a little.

If I wasn't "looking" for it, I probobly wouldn't notice it.

This description is about right. It's like a hesitation or dieseling sound - if you've ever driven a manual tranny and are in too high a gear at low RPM just before a stall - it's like that. As soon as you downshift, you're fine an the noise/vibration goes away, but then you are accelerating so you slow down and it's back. For me I get it from around 40mph+.

Will be making plans to drop it off next week at some point to have it resolved. I notice it every day I drive, so it's very frustrating to me because I'm sub conciously looking out for it all the time.
