Shudder or something else?

Well, I see a lot of people describe the shudder differently and while under WOT.

Mine just recently started a light jerk or twitch under very light loads in 5th gear only. When going up hills or accelerating it feels like the engine is missing causing the car to jerk slightly. It only does this in 5th gear from 40MPH+

Is this the shudder or something different?

How many miles on your WK2? Mine was doing this a bit around 500 miles but at 1100 miles it's virtually gone.

I'm about to tow 5000 lbs 2500 miles over the next 2 weeks, I'm hoping whatever gremlins might be lurking in the drivetrain get exorcised. I've felt more changes in the trans/converter in the first 1000 miles than I have ever felt in a new vehicle in the last 15 years. My guess is there are a lot of things that need to be run in as well as some programming that needs to adapt and that's what I'm feeling. I know it feels a lot better now, after a few WOT pulls than it did around 500 miles ago when I was still being "nice" to it ;)

mjw930 mine just turned 9K miles. It hasn't been present until now.

But I feel you on the drivetrain it has been a real disappointment. My friends 05 5.7L limited WK drives like a dream compared to mine. My transmission has jerked and shifted poorly from day one, and the dealer says everything is normal. I drained an extra 2 quarts of fluid from the transmission at 3K miles when I noticed it was extremely high on the dip stick. Hopefully the dealer will be able to feel the shudder this time.

My 2008 Commander Ltd Hemi 5.7 has 205K miles on it. This past weekend I replaced the trans fluid and filters for the first time (35k since I bought it). The can filter had a mfg date of 2007 on it so I am super depressed. Anyhow, after driving for 2 days I am seeing the early signs of torque converter issues with lockup. No signs of issues in trans fluid, only small amt of very fine metal on magnet and fluid was reddish brown - not smelling burnt but definitely not new. Issue presented itself two weeks ago when it would not maintain gears and the slip indicator was intermittently flashing. No CEL. Seemed like it was overheating? But now has all the signs of torque converter. UGH. Shudder at 40 MPH when maintaining speed, etc.
