It's far from a Jeep only issue.
My BMW rep gave me the same line when my car was in for a fuel pump ... the 4th time it had to be replaced! Another rep that was around that day said the district manager just had to be towed in the day before for the same issue.
My wife found it hilarious when she brought the car in the first line was "Well it could be any of hundreds of things. these cars are really complicated. we don't have any known issues. will need extensive testing. blah blah" ... She asked "well just suppose in the remote chance we have a bad fuel pump, do you have any in stock?" Answer: "No, they're on backorder and we have 12 cars ahead of yours waiting"
