Re: Shudder solution!

I've posted on a few threads with my update. No fix with the new torque converter and was told that there is another converter to be manufactured to fix the problem.

Re: Shudder solution!

So this new converter (to be manufactured) is still not produced?

Therefore, any Overlands being ordered now will still have the "old" converter and be susceptible to the shudder problem?

Re: Shudder solution!

Hmmm.....

So I guess my next question would be, is this a "random" thing, or something that's affecting each and every Overland / Summit?

Re: Shudder solution!

From what i have read it seems that it is random. I think i saw estimates from one of the guys that works for Chry Co saying that this effects 20%. That was posted in one of the other threads.

Re: Shudder solution!

I'm thinking it effects many more than that, just people aren't driving it in a way to make the shudder. I had mine for 2 months before I read what sort of driving (which to me isn't unusual at all) causes the shudder and it happens to me now. I'm scared to see whats going to happen with it when I start towing in he spring time.

Re: Shudder solution!

We had a poll posted on this forum. It seems it only affects WK2 with HEMI and about a third of participants with HEMI were affected.

Re: Shudder solution!

Does the shutter you are talking about happen between 0 and 20 MPH? I have a 2011 that does this very bad in this speed range.

I think your problem is different. Most of the people with HEMI reported problem in 40-70 MPH range (not 100% sure). I myself have V6 and don't have any shudder.
